Newing or Hinman

I'm having trouble deciding between the two for housing. Do any current students have an opinion on either of them?

Sorry, I also want to know if I should apply for a dorm or a suite. I would prefer a dorm, but I have no idea what an entire floor sharing one bathroom would be like. Not to be gross, but I don't want there to be like a turd or something in one of the toilets while I'm in the shower =/. So I'd like to know if there's an issue with smell in the floor bathrooms.

I picked suite because of the bathroom issue, after growing up 18+ years with my own bathroom idk how i could use a bathroom with 30-40 other kids... the mountain view suites either have 4 ppl-1 bathroom or 6ppl-2bathrooms so that much more manageable, hinman suites i think are 6ppl-1bathroom.

i don't personally live in hinman or newing (rather ciw), but i know that there is a huge difference in the noise levels of the two. newing is mostly guys and girls that are part of a frat or a sorority, so my friend said the floors at nights are usually very noisy. hinman is quieter and preferable for people who like their quiet time, but it is very close to the area of campus where most of the classes are (its right across from the lecture hall).
and i'm not sure about the other dorms' bathrooms, but i live corridor style and share a bathroom with about 20 other girls (not 30 or 40) and it's never been a pain. everybody is free at different times of the day so there's never a wait to get in the bathroom or shower.....i've seen ppl that shower at, like, 4 in the morning....

My brother is in Hinman (suite in Smith) and from the many times I've visited him, the dorms are pretty decently sized (compared with other colleges I've seen). Granted I also haven't seen any other dorms at Bing. While a dorm might be preferred at first, after seeing my brother in his suite, I personally would think a suite is a better option because you're not stuck with one person that you either love or hate. You would have more of a possibility of liking someone in a room with 4 or 6 people than just one other person. However, my brother isn't really a fan of any of his suitemates...

Hope this helped.
