we make processors go

[/quote]

What kinda "processors"? ... Sounds like something I've heard before many many years ago.

processors! like computer chips, intel, gigahertz! this is why TOKYO U is so superior. we understand this! ahhahahahhaaha

TOKYO U

TOKYO U

TOKYO U!
(see previous post for remainder of 'real world university rankings')

US got bronze in world basketball champioship yesterday....i guess when NBA team wins 'world championship' you are being lied to.

this may explain teh confusion when americans dont see his or her school on world university list.

This is the best troll we've had in a long time. Dippity Doonut, please have a flame war with posterX.

what is this? i find this inoffensive so much i am burning red with fury. i will report you to the administrator for this. this is so ignorant. you are calling me troll because i am asian? at TOKYO U we would throw you out to the sharks and watch them roll in your viscera!

there are colleges in other countries?

Didn't know that, still don't care :)

 5. U of nagasaki
 6. cambridge
 7. berkrey
 8. MIT
 9. harvard
 10. stanfard

dude, univ. of hokaido is number 4?

that's bs. Waseda, Kyoto, Keio can only compete with Tokyo U.
SO the global ranking should be revised as follows

Harvard

Berkeley

Cambridge, Oxford

MIT

Stanford

Yale

Columbia

Chicago

Tokyo U.

The presence of college of Women & Familiy in Tokyo U. is the most significant factor that propelled Tokyo U in top Ten:

For your common man, college of women & family is di place to go for if you want to sharpen the skill for sushi & maki presentation.

That's what I thought. When I was in college many many many years ago, we were told that the "next" generation computer chips would be dominated by Japanese... But then American engineering/mfging took over... and we all know what happened after that.

Dippity-san,
May be you can tell us why you think Tokyo U is so great with computer chips? You mentioned "intel" ... what does it has to do with anything Japanese?

this situation much like americans thinking that they have the stanley cup when all the players are from canada!

your great school with programs of higher learning are occupied with great students from india, eastern europe, asia, the middle east. these are the grad students who are granted research and these are the most significant components of such rankings. subtract these students and what happens? think about it. they come to US for money, cause the US has money.

you should think that what is american about your 'top ivies' is only the location, and not composition.

There are certain truths in that statement. When I went to Harvard/MIT, I saw a large number of Indians, Asians in there. Especially at MIT, man I could smell general Chou’s chickens in hallway-can’t say about Eastern European populations though cuz they look like regular Americans

We call it "brain drain" ... not sure what you'd call it at Tokyo U. Not sure why you're so happy about it.

people come to america from other countries because america's straight up better than those countries, I'm not sure if thats that Donut is trying to say in a weird way

I can sum up Doonut's problem in two words: "over" and "compensation."

i think some Universities were not in list, for example,Darthmouth,William...But they are really good for study.
And each of U only strong in some fields, not at all.so,that list is not really true.

"US got bronze in world basketball champioship yesterday....i guess when NBA team wins 'world championship' you are being lied to.

this may explain teh confusion when americans dont see his or her school on world university list."

He he. Too right. Americans should really realize there are other countries out there.
And seriously, why isn't LSE on that list?
It's wrong. WRONG I TELL YOU!

Because whenever you smell General Chou's chicken in a hallway - it's basic common knowledge that it must be emanating from people of certain nationalities / ethnicities ... (no way that a random person of any race could have ordered some General Chou's chicken and there is no way that it could be that smell emanating into the hallway... non-Asians who eat General Chou's chicken order it with the no-smell option...)

Come on, prestige, everybody knows when non-Asians eat a high-ranking army officer's chicken, it's Colonel Sanders'.

yeah, that what im tryin to say! this is why i have new ranking scheme!

University of Cambridge

Oxford University

Tokyo University

Imperial College London

University of Toronto

Harvard University

Massachusetts Institute Technology

Stanford University

University of California at San Francisco

Columbia University

University of Michigan at Ann Arbor

University of California at Los Angeles

University of Pennsylvania

Duke University

Princeton Universitty

Yale University

California Institute of Technology

University of California at Berkeley

Cornell University

University of Chicago

these rankings based 1. the newsweek rankings and 2. the more important ranking! safety! at the top five school on this list, you are less likely to get MUGGED, SHOT, ROBBED, RAPED, YOUR CAR STOLEN. these countries have stricter contorl of weapons and more social programs so people are less likely to need your ipod for heroin!

so you can study in peace. this is very important, especially in japan. without peace we would have no time to study! it inversely related! like mathmatical!

true. america is possibly the most dangerous of the modernized countries.

just curious - how hard is it to get into Tokyo U? It's basically one test that determines your fate, right? How hard is it?

Doonut, thanks for putting U of Toronto up where it belongs, even if it's just because your cousin went there. Unfortunately, the use of exclamation marks (!) and the use of common sense are inversely related. Like mathematical!!
