Who has the nicer campus, Auburn or Alabama?

They are both nice but have different feels to them. Tuscaloosa is a larger town than Auburn and some people like that. I like the UA campus but I don't like Tuscaloosa, it's very scary in some parts. Auburn is much more pastoral and peaceful.

Thanks for the info. We plan on visiting both and are trying to decide where to go first.

Alabama's campus is nice, but Tuscaloosa is seriously scary. It is bigger and has more to do than Auburn though. Auburn's campus (well, the parts lacking construction projects anyway) is very nice, and the town is very quaint and peaceful. It is very safe to be out in Auburn at night... Tuscaloosa, not so much, esp. the area around the campus seems really ghetto. The equivalent of that near Auburn would be the neighboring town of Opelika, which is not anywhere close to downtown Auburn or the campus however. But everyone knows you do not go to the Opelika Wal-mart at night alone because it is sketchy as hell.

I agree, the campus at UA is beautiful but the surrounding Tuscaloosa is scary. FSU is the same way but they claim to have very good security. I think that the AU campus is getting better fast...the new student center is really nice and the engineering buildings are amazing.
