<p>They are not the same thing. 3 juniors were chosen from my school last year based on highest GPA in class. Gov school is something you apply to. Both are very prestigious, but scholars program is much harder to get into.</p>

<p>LOL this is really late, but TASP is MUCH MORE harder</p>
<p>as a past NJ Scholar, we had quite a few TASP rejectees</p>
<p>also, I’ve been told that TASP really goes for the eccentric people, not necessarily the smart ones</p>
<p>More prestigious? I would have to say TASP again, because it is more national, however, both programs are really the same kind of experience, though</p>
