My son has been accepted to the 2009 NJROTC Engineering and Technology Leadershp Seminar at Univ of San Diego this July. We're from Maryland. This will be his first solo trip across the country, and he's thrilled. Anyone else going?

My son was accepted to this seminar also. We are from Florida. I’m a little nervous about the flight but will be better once I get flight information. He has flown to California before but we put him on the plane in Atlanta he didn’t have to change planes. Have you seen any flight information yet?

That’s great, BMatt! Yes, we actually received his flight information about 2 weeks ago. My son is flying out of Baltimore, and he will have to change planes both ways with less than one hour layover in between – eek! I’d be more relaxed if he was on direct flights, but I know that is not always possible. I suppose I need to have faith that a bright 17-year-old will manage it just fine.

My daughter has also been accepted into the Leadership seminar, and she is thrilled. We are from Orlando, Florida and looking forward to it with much anticipation. My daughter will be traveling with other cadets in the Orlando area and will be changing planes in Atlanta an then flying to San Diego. Congrats to all!!!

Congratulations to your daughter, Lakeorienta. Wow, another from Florida.

The date is getting closer, and our son’s excitement is building. I’m getting uniforms together – he still cannot skillfully iron a military crease. I wish he had a travel-mate from this area.

Anyone else?
