Ive spoken to 2 people about this. One from purdue and other from UMich (both great schools for Aero Engn). Both of them said that it is pretty difficult (infact impossible) to find a job in an aerospace firm after graduating unless you are a US citizen or a green card holder. How true is this?

Also, is it easier to land in a job after doing post grad?

Ive always dreamt of doing aero engn but there arent any good colleges nor any industries in this field in my home country. So immigration is my intent.

most engineering jobs require citizenship or green card because most engineering companies like Lockheed and general dynamics are govt contractors. You can however look for a job, which gives you the green card. There aren't many, but it wont be hard to find.

Yea, like the other guys said, you're gonna need a security clearance if you're gonna work for a defense contractor or the government. They are already way behind in giving out clearances to citizens. It would cost more and take longer to get a clearance for an international applicant.

I know companies like Hawker Beechcraft that hire non-US citizens, however they usually get the grunt work. They're also separated from the other engineers, wear a badge with a red swipe through it, indicating that they're not a US citizens, and often ignored in the company.

there only 2 sureways for you to work at aerospace companies. Marry a US citizen or get a nursing degree and work as a nurse for couple of years until u get your greencard (nurse automatically get green card) and then ditch your nursing and get aerospace degree then work in aerospace companies.
