Question: What are some top colleges that do not have core classes/required courses? Brown is the only school that comes to mind but I'm sure there are others...?

Thanks

Amherst also has no core/distribution requirements, besides one freshman seminar.

University of Rochester
Wesleyan
Vassar

Johns Hopkins has no core curriculum. They use a system of distribution requirements instead.

Hamilton in Clinton, NY has no core classes.

This brings up an important point. There are a ton of colleges without core or required classes that still have some sort of distribution requirements. Amherst and Brown are the only ones I know of that have no distribution requirements either.

Smith does not have any distribution requirements except for one writing intensive class.

Vassar requires one freshman seminar (writing intensive class), one quantitative course, and proficiency in a language. It also has no distribution requrements....

So yeah, if you're looking for a college which have no specific distribution/course requirements, I'd say you can't do much better than Vassar :-).
