No financial aid at Cornell??!!

Cornell is supporting 213 international undergraduate students with $8,013,493.

How do you know @lk65ty5rt4?

Cornell is currently awarding $4.8M to 127 international undergraduates. Since the class of 2014, Canadians are considered as internationals – before that, they were treated just like Americans with respect to financial aid. Mexicans I think are still treated as Americans but not quire sure. Before 2014, Cornell would normally award 10-15 international applicants a scholarship. For 2014 and following, they pooled the money normally awarded to Canadians into the international pool. So now Cornell is offering about 35-40 scholarships per class year.

Cornell is need blind for US applicants but need aware for international applicants. Within the Ivy League only Harvard, Princeton, Yale and Dartmouth are need blind for internationals.

let me just point out to the OP that with parental income of about $120K, i assume some savings, and a sibling in college for which they pay $13,000, EVEN IF he were an American citizen, Cornell would not be offering much aid. You can run Cornell’s financial aid calculator with your family’s numbers, but I’d be surprised if it comes up with more than $10K or so in aid. That’s more than 0, of course, but nowhere near what you were expecting. I think it looks like Cornell is a high-priced luxury for you, which is pretty much the case for most American middle-class families as well. Some choose to spend a lot of money for that luxury, and some do not. Most middle-class Americans who get into Cornell have some other, cheaper, options to choose from too - I hope that is true for you as well. Good luck.

Cornell is need blind when it comes to admission for international students, but it doesn´t meet full need (if any) when it comes to FA. Another word, they don´t look at your financial situation when it comes to admission, but once you are admitted, they don´t always give you FA.

I too, got no financial aid this year. My parents probably make around 100-110k, and I have a sister in college (18k a year)…oh well.

How do you guys know these figures?
