No news from Wash U = Rejected?

Hello everyone,

Today, I was informed by several people from my school that Wash U has sent out early notice acceptance letters. I believe in addition to one student who was accepted from our school during ED, that would bring the total of accepted students from my high school to four.

I applied ED myself and was deferred, and I am becoming quite nervous because I have not received any information from Wash U. Apparently, one of the three accepted students got a letter in the mail a day or two ago, and the other two got emails last week and yesterday, respectively.

I checked in the mail and online today but there was not any information on acceptance/rejection. I am becoming quite concerned. I was wondering, does Wash U always send out early notices before accepting an applicant?

Thank you for your time.

I also think that most of us that haven't heard yet are rejected, but I could be wrong.

I hate not knowing!!!

Friend<minority, for="" those="" who="" are="" curious=""> from c/o 2006 didn't hear till Mar. 15 (or the saturday of that year). Got his letter 2 weeks later. Don't worry. Currently attends.</minority,>

I think you both might be mistaken.
I believe some people are notified about acceptance EARLY...and then a bunch of people are notified about acceptance right ON TIME (before April 1).
So just hang in there, don't loose hope!

Okay, an update with the situation. Apparently there's FIVE applicants accepted from our school this year, and we usually get two or three at most...

Most of the accepted students DO NOT get the early writes. And if you were deferred ED, it would be extremely unlikely for them to send you one...

I think that most of those getting early writes are those for whom there is a special weekend (multicultural, Art, Architecture, etc) to which they are being invited to and require an early RSVP. I agree with nngm that it would not be very common to get an early write/invite if originally deferred ED, even though this did happen to my D. In retrospect, I think she was a very strong candidate in general, but had one C on her first quarter grades, which she subsequently improved upon.

Yeah, I was right. I checked the decision and ended up getting rejected. Oh well. Not too surprised. =</p>
