My daughter applied EA, and has not heard anything yet. But I checked on her Gibson sign in earlier today…and there appears to be a $30K “premier” merit award posted to her account. I don’t want to say anything to our daughter because she loves Tulane and if this is some sort of miscommunication, I don’t want her to know until something is official.
Could anyone kindly tell me how and where the decisions are communicated to the applicants? And does the info on Gibson mean anything, or is it some sort of placeholder/boilerplate that gets changed or modified once the official decision is sent?
Given that Tulane recently sent out 130 EA acceptances in error, there might be reason for caution. I’d call the school to confirm, just in case. Hoping it’s true!
This happened to me (less money, same concept though!). My gibson was updated and two days later, I got my portal acceptance. I haven’t heard of anyone getting merit on gibson and not getting in.
Maybe hold off just in case, but congratulations! She’s in! (With a great amount of merit and probably honors given the amount of money!!)
My daughter also got her award on Gibson before getting her acceptance and it came through. I haven’t heard yet of anyone getting merit on Gibson and not getting in. Congrats!
If it is in Gibson, it is official. The email fiasco was a different situation. Expect the acceptance to post in a couple of days and the full letter acceptance which will also tell you if invitation into the Honors program will be included. Anyone with $30K to $32K in merit are the top 10% which get an invitation
