Are international students allowed to apply to scholarships in US, or are we limited to applying for FA, which means that if we don't get enough FA and we cannot afford the tuition the only option is 'not to attend'?

Most financial aid for international students comes through the colleges and universities themselves. Some students have aid from an international organization or from an entity in their home country. You are welcome to research independent scholarships through any of the websites such as fastweb. However, you will find that most of them are for US citizens and permanent residents, and that a fair number are for citizens only.

Every single year many international students find out that they cannot afford to study in the US, much as many US students find out that they cannot afford to study at the college or university that they really wanted to attend. This is just life. Make sure that you have other options for your education either in your home country or another one.

Good luck!

Are international students allowed to apply to scholarships in US

At many schools, int’l students are not allowed to apply for scholarships.

However, at some schools they are.

I’m guessing that the schools that allow int’ls to apply for scholarships have scholarships that are not funded by taxpayers. For instance, at my kids’ school, the scholarships are not funded by taxpayers, so int’ls are awarded them if they qualify by stats.
