Wow. Wish I’d know about that way back when.
Not everyone married James Spader!
So sex 6 days a week is some type of punishment?
My hubby wishes he were punished in such a manner…
Some older husbands might be grateful for the break.
This would just be playing right into their plan. Those pushing this agenda have very conservative views on sex in general, so you having less sex that is not procreative is something they would very much be in favor of. They would love to tell you how much sex you should/should not be be having. They would love to be able to restrict who you have it with and the types of sex you can engage in even more.
The reproductive rights issue is an unfortunate symptom of a much larger and more insidious attempt to restrict many more sets of our rights. These people want to tell you how to live your life based upon their religious beliefs. The separation of church and state is in very real jeopardy. They are systematically using our government as a tool to codify their religious views. More is coming, and withholding sex from your husband is not going to stop it. If sex is the only tool you can use to motivate your husband to care about and act upon this issue, well, I’ll let each of you finish that sentence from your own perspective.
I just said the same thing to my husband.
I also hate the underlying messages that somehow women don’t enjoy sex or it’s something to be used/withheld as a means of control.
IMO, it would be more effective for pro choice women in red states to have a sick out from work.
You’re quickly heading to a divorce.
My first reaction to this thread also included the word “divorce”. To me divorce seems like the obvious result if anyone decides to punish their spouse for something that happens among politicians in Washington DC (or a breakup for couples who haven’t gotten married).
Except this isn’t just what happens between politicians. This is what politicians do when playing to the loudest voices of their bases, and this is their voters trying to inflict their will on all citizens of their state (or country). So I think it is perfectly appropriate that if your spouse is of that mindset, that they walk the walk and live the way they want to force upon others. One can help their spouse avoid hypocrisy.
I sympathize with the sentiment, but I hope we don’t let the political divisions in our society today to divide our families.
I don’t think the appropriate response to politicians or judges screwing us is us screwing loved ones less.
Again, to those saying this is a political issue, it’s not. Politics are simply the tool and politicians just are the workers. The beliefs inspiring their work come from a place that may require many of us to have an uncomfortable look in the mirror and decide whether the institutions we participate in and support are at the root of these efforts to remove individual rights and tell others who may not share their beliefs how to live their most private lives.
It’s always interesting to me that those who claim want less government involvement in our lives actually try to control our lives in so many areas.
Or vote blue. So many woman (and men) believe in what’s happening.
The polls show they are in a minority. Yet somehow they get their way.
Same thing happening at the local school level. In TN we now have partisan school boards. Just this year. Why ? What’s partisan about learning ?
That’s an easy one. Ignorance serves one party’s agenda.
There are partisan divisions over things like:
- What causes of the Civil War should be taught in US history courses.
- Whether evolution should be taught in biology courses.
- What sex education should be taught in health courses.
I’m not understanding the point of this thread. Apparently, I’m not alone, since users are either taking it as a joke or simply violating ToS. Based on the number of flags, and since cleaning takes too much time, I’m closing.
