Has anyone received notification that they have made it to the next round and are now required to submit their official transcript?

Looks like the initial review was completed on 3/7/14.

Has anyone received notification that they have made it to the next round and are now required to submit their official transcript?

Looks like the initial review was completed on 3/7/14.

How do we know if we got past the initial review? I haven’t received any notification…

From some additional research I have done it looks like emails are set to go out tomorrow to those making it to the official transcript stage:

Ernest F. Hollings Scholarship Program Milestones
Sep. 1 – Jan. 31, 2014: Application Period
March 7, 2014: Preliminary application review process completed.
March 25, 2014: Official transcripts due to NOAA if requested on March 12, 2014
March 28, 2014: Application review process completed and recipient selections finalized.
April 1, 2014: Notification of scholarship recipients

Where did you get this information? I’ve been searching everywhere for more info about the Hollings…

when you log into your application (user name and password) you will see a PDF document titled Hollings Application instructions. This appears above the other elements of the application marked “complete”.

DD received an email stating, ‘Applicants selected for the Final Review Process will be notified via email by Tuesday, March 18, 2014, to submit an official transcript.’

NOAA’s website now states, “Successful applicants will be notified by TUESDAY, APRIL 1, 2014.”

DD just got an email asking her to submit her official transcript! Roll Tide!

@Sniner. Congratulations to your DD.

Sent my transcript, received an email stating we will be notified on April 1st about final decisions. Only 13 days, fingers crossed!

Congrats Marinebio444!

I wonder how many get cut at this point- any idea?

I think it’s just to weed out those who don’t have the basic requirements: Sophomore standing, complete application, >3.0 GPA, etc. So probably doesn’t weed out that many…

My DD has a friend with SUPER stats that did not get the email yesterday.

Possibly something incomplete on her application? That’s the only real explanation I can give for that…

Have they sent out the selections yet? I made it to the final review, but recipients are supposed to be notified today (Apr 1st) and I haven’t heard anything yet :(

My daughter has not heard anything yet either.

Hope we hear something soon!

Nothing from UMiami yet either. According to my friend who got Hollings last year, they found out late at night (around 11:30 PM) the day of notification, so it may not be for another several hours. My friend got me really good though, sent a very official-looking email notifying me of my rejection from the program. I guess that’s what you get when the notification date falls on April Fools Day…

Ha! That’s so mean! Great prank.

I hope not a lot of people get cut from this final round. From what Sniner said, only about 3 days are between when the transcripts are due and when they make the final selections…doesn’t leave much time for them to weed through hundreds of applicants.
