Only 7 graduated from Stanford got Noble Prizes vs 25 from UCB.

Eh, both schools are respectable. As much as I would love to rag on Stanfurd, they are both good schools with excellent programs. This isn’t really a good measure of superiority, football is another matter :)

Go Bears.

I know. I am an Stanford Alum and my son graduated from Berkeley.
My D is aiming at Berkeley.

Heh, interesting. I agree with Ducky Dodger, but this is also something to point out when Stanfordites assert that Stanford currently has more laureates on its staff than Berkeley. Hah. =p

Kyledavid80, you seem to really contend for Berkeley (while degrading other schools), which I find quite amusing as you have not actually gotten into Berkeley yet. My post is not meant to invoke hostility, it’s just the impression I get from your tone. All the best for you this coming admissions process.

“To contend” for Berkeley? You mean, to root for it?

You mean “evoke,” right?

I don’t see what’s odd about rooting for a school you like. To each his own. =)

Oh, and:

I haven’t ‘degraded’ any other schools to my knowledge, not even Stanford. =p

By contend, I mean “To strive in controversy or debate; dispute.” And I considered both usages of evoke and invoke, and both seemed relevant in context. Invoke also means “to effect, to implement,” however perhaps I used it out of connotation.

And no, there is nothing wrong with rooting for a school you like, I agree. But, now again this is just my impression from some of your posts, you seem to belittle other schools in the process.

Go Bears!

Go Smoot and Mather!

Looks like Smooth isn’t teaching phyiscs 7b next semester. Not surprising!

he probably thought to himself, “I have the Nobel Prize. Screw teaching.”

By Smooth I meant Smoot :)

“Eh, both schools are respectable. As much as I would love to rag on Stanfurd, they are both good schools with excellent programs.”
Yes! I agree. I definitely plan on applying to Stanford for graduate school one day. That is, assuming I make it through the next 2 years unscathed at Cal. :-)
