<p>Does anyone know how to find the stats on the competitiveness for nominations in each state? I'm from Nevada, and although we're becoming increasingly competitive, we're nowhere near states like Virginia, New York, Colorado, Texas, or California. Thanks!</p>

<p>One way is to look at the profile of midshipmen for the past several years. Compare the number of midshipmen that make up each class from your state with the number of congressional districts plus the two senators. This gives an idea, at least. I do not know if there is published data comparing the number of qualified applicants with the number of appointments on a state-by-state basis. It still is difficult because of the number entering from the fleet, and NAPS.
