Non-California Kids ASSEMBLE!

Okay, I don't wanna breed false hope, but if USC goes for geographic diversity, we might have some shot.

I'm from a "top school" in Louisiana (which isn't saying much) and I wouldn't think there'd be too many serious applicants. So this is what I'm hoping...

I am from a good solid school in Mississippi and im black. what do you think that does for me?

It doesn't hurt.

USC said that they received a record number of URM and East Coast applicants...I got accepted from Massachusetts so I think they're liking the whole national diversity as of right now, since part of their reputation depends on diversity. Also, USC seems to like keeping half the student body out-of-state.

hmm... chances chanes!!! do they have a demographics page. where i can like see how many from each state? even from last year

40%.

53% Cali. 7% int'l.

3040 spots for OOS kids. Divided equally, it's about 62 kids for each of the remaining 49 states. But of course it'll be more lopsided.

African from New York City here...

D is NJ white female.....

Haha geographic diversity. I live in China. From SoCal. I think that so far tops everybody. But, I don't know if it will matter at all right now if stats don't back it.

Long Island, NY. Geographic diversity works against me everywhere :-/

If you add middle-class to that, it comes out to the perfect anti-hook, same as my D :D

Hispanic, middle-class, and from Texas. =/

White from Oregon (accepted).

Last year of the 6,624 high schools represented by applicants, only 2,701 were represented by the admits.

Thanks groovygeek for that...yes, middle-class, public school...haha....absolutely no "hook" (unless they care about her starting her own business in 8th grade)

Legacy might also be a factor. USC has a strong alumni network.

What about white female from New Mexico?
New Mexicans ALL go to UNM - i.e., University Near Mommy

Rarely do I hear of any from public schools going to out of state colleges

D is central NJ, white, middle-class female, private school.

Middle class Asian from Maryland (accepted)

I know of 2 African-Americans from Maryland that were accepted. One for athletics, one got Presidential.

what sport did they play.
