<p>Are there a lot of career opportunities for engineers looking to do non-profit work, possibly in the developing world? Like, do NGOs/USAID employ engineers to build water treatment plants and stuff like that in poor countries? </p>
<p>When I say career opportunities, I mean on an ongoing basis, not something like the Peace Corps where you go overseas for a couple years, help a lot of people and hopefully learn a lot, but end up going home to get a "real" job.</p>
