i have a question
im also not a non US citizen or a permanent resident but me and my family have a SSN
so i applied for FAFSA like a normal student
with this i got accepted for the schools and i got the scholarships as a normal student
but after sometime i find out that some of my colleges admitted me as an international student(i did not get any financial aid) so i was wondering if they will take away my merit based scholarships or not
and is it true that some schools don’t allow you to do any research if you are a international student

Here’s a bit of information for your guideline…

You are going to have to take your questions directly to each college and university about the scholarships.

Some international students might possibly be barred from research that requires a security clearance, but to bar all international students makes no sense at all when we consider that the purpose of the university is to teach students!

I am a little confused.
hh146, you were able to file FAFSA like a normal student? did they give you any money? my parents have SSN, does that mean I can apply for FAFSA even through I am an international student?

Here is the FAFSA paper version:

So as a student in the US who has temporary protected status, which is not one of the eligible noncitizen designations, should I still fill out the FAFSA or would this be fraudulent?

Regarding the G4 Visa (I had one for 1 year), you pay resident fees (Unlike F-1 were you pay non-res fees).
