Non-work-study jobs

What are some good places to look for work if I don’t have work-study? (At the beginning of last year, I went to their student job fair and applied to everything that didn’t require it, but there were only a few jobs and I didn’t get anything.)

I’m a math major, so I don’t think any professors would pay me for research. I’m thinking of double majoring in computer science, but I’ve only taken two classes in that department.

One of the restaurants on Euclid, the jolly scholar, little italy, if you’re desperate 1-to-1 fitness

My son is a math major at Case. He got a job tutoring other students on campus that pays very well. ($9 or $10 per hour??) He has a research grant this summer, $3000 from SOURCE. He is doing an econometrics project. Yes, double major in CS if you can. It will give you more options later. Or even if you cannot squeeze in a double major, take as many CS courses as you can. You may get a job with just math, but you will be using a computer and doing computational work. Also, look into actuary and statistics. There is a lot of need for actuaries but you have to pass the actuary exams. You can take the first actuary exam as an undergraduate,do that if actuary work interests you. The more statistics and computer science you can take, the better off you will be for getting summer work. Ask the math department for help too in finding a good summer job.

Look to physics profs or cs profs or research groups that need number crunching/data wrangling perhaps. My dd did that elsewhere early on without much training except what they gave her.
