Northeastern Class of 2027 Official Thread

Deferred EA and rejected. 1450 SAT and 3.8 UW GPA. This is the first private school I’ve heard back from, and the one I thought most likely, so now I’m feeling even less confident in the rest yet to come. I do already have multiple acceptances I’m happy with, but they’re all quite expensive, I really needed that meets full need and it doesn’t look like it’ll be coming from anywhere. It is what it is, I guess.

Waitlist #6! :tada:

S23 EA deferral, waitlisted. 3.98/4.5, 1560, no hooks.

My son was waitlisted and I think his letter disappeared again (like it did when he was deferred from EA to RD) after he checked off that he’d like to stay on the waitlist :woman_facepalming:

Thank you. He’s taking it very well actually. Think he was stressed out waiting and can breathe a little as he moves to the final stage of this big decision. I know he’ll do great no matter where he ends up and I think he knows it too, although these moments definitely sting a bit.

My daughter’s waitlist disappeared and she didn’t check anything off, it is back to saying Decided from the “update your information” page, and no status at all from the home portal page.

That’s so weird! You sure she didn’t click the box that said to remain on waitlist? Very strange.

Rejected. After EA deferral. 34 ACT- 101 GPA, varsity 4 year athlete, numerous clubs, etc….

Never mind, poor communication between us, she DID click the box saying she wanted to stay on the waitlist. Were the waitlists all for the Boston campus or were they for other campuses? I feel like getting to read the letter a second time (for her, first time for me) would have been nice!

My son was deferred EA and rejected this evening. He’s fine; he has a lot of good choices; good luck all;

For all those waitlisted, I think it’s time to move on. Going through the wait only to get into a program that you weren’t interested in is not worth it.

Where is he inclined to going?

Yes! We usually print out the letters but they just disappear with the system they have! I think they sent an email after the deferrals which shared the letter (perhaps after complaints) so keep an eye out!

Our son was in this last wave and accepted to NU London campus-Business, today. Applied RD. Surprising since everyone said this last wave was rejections and waitlists. We don’t know much about the London program but will be researching it! He has a cousin who is a senior at NU Boston campus who is currently in Paris with his internship this semester. He has loved his years at NU.

4.7W SAT 1450. 9APs with 4/5s in all so far. Public Magnet school in Southeast.

Thank you for your explanation. I was disappointed (loved the campus and culture) but not surprised. I was admitted to Tufts and UCSB yesterday so I’m pretty happy with my options so far.

Same!!

DS rejected and honestly relieved that this nightmare is finally over. Easily the worst admission process of any of the 16 schools he applied to during this process. For a school that was ranked #44 Nationally last year, they admit students like an Ivy League school. They have gamed the process well. UCSB or Cal Poly for my DS in the fall most likely. Gladly take either over this mess.

I agree! Northeastern’s process has been so anxiety-producing and they need to change how they do things beyond trying to climb up rankings and protect their yield.
