okay so i got accepted into NEU honors and am debating about doing it. I will be a biology (pre-med) student and know that medical schools look very considerably at your GPA. Considering the classes will be harder and I will have more to do, therefore probably a lower GPA... will it worth it in the end? if anybody has any experience or can let me know if medical schools look positively upon an honors program (making it worth it) then it'd be greatly appreciated

You can choose which courses you take at Honors level. Many science courses simply require that you take an Honors lab. I’ve personally taken most of my Honors courses on the NU Core (I’m a Neuroscience Major, but aside from Intro Psych, all of the Honors courses I have taken have been out of my major), and none of the courses I’ve taken have been especially challenging, though if you don’t feel confident in your ability to tackle Humanities coursework, you’ll probably want to stick to courses in your major.

There usually aren’t many (if any) honors courses offered that fulfill required courses for a science major. That is why some science majors get stuck because they have packed schedules, but can’t find the room for classes to finish their honors requirements. So you should try and take as many core honors classes as you can anyway.
