Thank you for all of your answers @twicemama @TomSrOfBoston
I got into Cal today with a $30,000 scholarship so my tuition would be $9000/year (in state). So due to the financial package, I realized I would not be attending NEu.
@musiciangoaler I doubt NEU will offer much to make it easy for you to accept. I think it’s too late. Why would you not want to go to Cal?
@airway1 Sorry if I phrased it poorly. They gave me a nice scholarship and the school is great. So Yes I will be attending Cal!
@musiciangoaler great choice! Good luck!
Is there a thread for NUin Class of 2023?
Denied, but probably in part because I put no effort into this school (never visited, wrote pretty vague essays).
Going to the Barnard College of Columbia University.
3.96 unweighted/4.25 weighted GPA
32 ACT
8 AP classes
many extracurriculars w/leadership roles; many awards; lots of service
my common app was good but my northeastern specific essay was trash
We are headed back to Oregon to contemplate. Just did the NU.in admitted student’s tour. My D17 was accepted, but the costs are out of reach.
Decision (and if deferred EA): Accepted RD (NU.in)
SAT/ACT (Superscore): 1300 (as HS Junior)
GPA (UW/W + Scale Info): UW 4.0
State/Country: OR
Major: Health Sciences (with path to DPT)
Did you apply for FA?: Yes
Honors/NMF/etc?: AP classes, dance, leadership, volunteer
She applied late (only found out in Nov that she could fast track finishing high school at community college and apply to college), so we didn’t get a chance on scholarships. I may try appealing.
Does anyone have the link for the admitted students facebook page?
Has NU released admissions data for 2019? Curious if there was a continued increase in applications and decrease in acceptance rate. Interesting that many other schools release this information on the day of RD decisions
@franklin124 No release yet. Northeastern developed a reputation for being too stats oriented so I think they are being more reticent about it. They will eventually be published. Some posted that their acceptance letter said that there were 62,000 applications. That was about what it was last year.
@Art_1018 You should have gotten an email with your acceptance.
Does anyone know if NEU would waive a deposit?
@TomSrOfBoston @PengsPhils I’m on the waitlist. Is it too late to send a LOCI? Also, what is the approximate waitlist acceptance rate?
@St678557 it is my understanding that NU hasn’t taken anyone off the waitlisted. Can be wrong if so it is very few. (they had overenrollment 3 yrs ago I believe, that caused a drop in acceptences & waitlisting). My son received a 2nd email about no one has come off waitlist & if he ants to continue. sorry.
Has anyone received news about waitlist acceptance?
@TomSrOfBoston @PengsPhils When does northeastern typically draw off of the waitlist? Will I get a notification of I don’t get off?
Has anyone called admissions to see when they will release waitlist decisions? Seeing past years, some decisions should’ve been released by now.
@St678557 Unsure but I would not expect significant if any waitlist movement generally. At this point, the best move anyone on a waitlist anywhere can make is assuming you won’t get off it and being excited if you do!
@St678557 & @gabrielle0167 my son just got an email last night saying they aren’t taking anyone off the waitlist.
