In typical times, if you are accepted for NUin you don’t have a choice between that and regular enrollment in Boston in the fall. You would only be accepted for NUin. So you are not correct, except for the uncertainty about what the NUin program might do this fall if the foreign locations don’t pan out.

@redwag if they say you’re admitted into NUin, that’s your only option (or you can decline and not go to NU, of course). If you’re “admitted for the fall”, then you’re a regular, on-campus student.

I was accepted NUin EA. 1580 SAT, 3.79 unweighted GPA, (3.9 weighted). 800 Math 2, 780 Chem, 730 Latin.

That’s where I don’t know the details. What is “Nuin in Boston during the fall?” I had thought it just means they will fold the NUin students into their normal classes, and if so they will not have enough room unless RD numbers are cut down. They are technically January admits, but that works ordinarily because they’re out of the country until January.

Otherwise, does “NUin in Boston” mean they’re in Boston but taking classes only for them, separate from the rest of Northeastern student body? Would there be additional separate housing? That seems kind of bizarre, that they’re in Boston but not in NEU, but I guess these are bizarre times.

@esdoc, not clear. Could be they just find alternative housing somewhere in Boston, since space is such a huge issue on campus. As far as classes go, whatever it ends up being would have to align with the NU curriculum, as that is the goal with NUin. They take classes at a partner institution where the same or comparable courses for their major are offered, so they can continue on in January with the rest of their class and the credits move over as well.

Tom, wasn’t there a college near Boston that recently closed? Perhaps they can use those facilities or something like that. Was it Newbury? Just speculating.

I know Mt Ida closed and UMASS Amherst bought it. Not sure if there was another you are thinking of…
