Yes, I know I explained it but the poster still seemed confused.
Congratulations on the admissions offers! Unfortunately, I haven’t received any decision regarding the waitlist yet. Does anyone know whether more decisions are expected to release later perhaps in may?
My daughter just got an email and was offered a spot this evening.
Just got off the waitlist for Northeastern at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business. So excited to go!
are you from india? @arnav122
Nope, I am from Long Island, NY! @laatulaataltu
can anyone who got in from the waitlist share stats, major, & if you’ve done anything/what you’ve done to try to get off the waitlist

Hi everyone! I was just accepted to Northeastern as a transfer (rising junior) and my brother was accepted to the NU.in program for the Class of 2024 (he’s a graduating HS senior). I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge or experience with declaring a housing exemption for a first year student? Basically as a transfer I have to live off campus and it would be both cheaper and more convenient if my brother could live with me. That being said, I don’t know how strict NU is about exempting first-years and especially those in NU.in (if it adds any clarity, my brother will probably stick with NU.in Boston instead of going abroad). Any and all input is appreciated and I thank you all in advance!!
@angelinasneg I think generally they are pretty strict, but I think the main exception that allows it is family living in the are within 30 minutes of the city so it really depends on how they classify you. Certainly worth a shot!
OFF Waitlist! Asian International Computer Science. $12k merit scholarship. Declined my spot. Good luck to ppl on the WL.
The email says this:
Dear [Name],
I am pleased to inform you that you are among a small group of waitlisted students who now have an opportunity to be offered admission to the Fall 2020 entering class at Northeastern University.
Based on your academic credentials, below is the merit scholarship you may anticipate:
International Scholarship $12,000
The portal updated shortly after.
@angelinasneg You could ask and talk with Housing - this year will be so unusual that it might be allowed, but generally frosh and soph are required to live on campus so they can build community and studies show student success is greater when they live on campus at the beginning.
I was rejected in March, but then last night was emailed about an opportunity to do N.U.in Boston first semester because spots opened up for Khoury students, and now am accepted. Anyone else get this decision reversal? (still in shock- never heard of this before)
@user1130 I am also in the same situation. I was rejected in March, but last night got an email about doing N.U.in Boston first semester because spots opened up for Khoury students, and now I am accepted.
@user1130 @sab8487572 I imagine that the yield among those offered NU In during EA and RD is below expectations since most will not be able to go abroad this fall.
Also, Northeastern has a large population of international students. Like other colleges, their yields among internationals have certainly been hit.
I wonder if they’ll offer regular admission to any NUIN students if yields are low. Especially if remaining global locations won’t work out.
Has anyone here admitted in this year asked for a deferral (gap year) to start next year? Where do you look for the decision letter on that?
