does anyone have any advice for what I can do to improve my chances? northeastern has been my dream school since sophomore year of high school - I’m glad I wasn’t rejected but I really want to attend!

I bet northeastern thinks they are your safety school and that’s why they deferred, If you show interest guarantee you’ll be accepted

I did, obviously, I just indicated on the common app that I was not interested in NUin.

Were you in Doon School ? Do they have IB board there?

The NUin program just means that you are doing your first semester abroad. Your second semester and next 3 years are all back on campus.
