My son was deferred like most here.

1450 SAT (submitted)
4.0 unweighted
National Hispanic merit scholar
Lots of volunteer hours
Level 10 gymnast
USA gymnastics academic all American

Heā€™s taking it well and trying to keep the faith but I think heā€™ll start to view his other schools with more seriousness. His did get a VIP invite to a Multicultural Visit Program at Pitt which even covers travel expenses so I think feeling some love at other colleges will soften the blow of getting deferred from his #1 choice.

Sorry you didnā€™t get the decision you wanted. My S21 decided pretty close to the deadline and ended up coming back around to a school that was probably 4th on his list. Now he canā€™t imagine being anywhere else. Donā€™t give up hope, but your son has lots of good options.

I really think they have to be so careful about their yield numbers. They over-enrolled so badly a couple of years ago and itā€™s hard to correct. Plus, 91-96K applications? Insane.

Top grades and scores. Deferred. I suspect they are afraid to accept and then he will go elsewhere. We are not following the ED2 rabbit hole. Rather we will wait for all the RD schools in the spring.

Did anyone else get accepted into the london campus? I am confused as I specified Boston only. Does anyone have experience with the london campus? Would you reccomend it?

Just an FYI - I have 1 at NU and 1 at Pitt. Love both schools. Donā€™t give up on NU but visit Pitt, it wont disappoint. Good Luck.
