I’m a high school senior who applied and got accepted to both Northeastern University and Boston University for business. It seems like people in my school see BU as a more prestigious university than NEU and they keep telling me how lucky I was to get in. Only 3 people (including myself) from my school got accepted into BU, while more than 10 students got accepted into NEU. I didn’t apply for Honors program to both schools, but NEU automatically admitted me into their Honors Program. I heard good reviews of both BU and NEU, and I personally think both schools are as good.
What are your opinions?
What is the bottom line cost of each school? Or is money not a concern?
Agree with Tom Sr - if cost is equal, then you need to evaluate. Visit both and get a vibe of each school. The one thing I will say is that while BU is ranked higher, NEU may give you a leg up job-wise due to its co-op program. You will graduate with 1.5 yrs of work experience, which could be invaluable for getting a job at graduation (depending on what you want to do).
@cameron121 Actually BU and Northeastern are both ranked 42 in USNews.
and both are way better options for you than UC Irvine* (unless you are in-state in CA and finances are a consideration)
*with apologies to my brother who works there…
Sorry Tom Sr, I didn’t specify but I was looking at UG Business rankings - BU = 39th vs NEU = 62nd. But you raise a good point, I forgot they equaled up this year overall, so the prestige lines are crossing…
