Northeastern vs. BU

Hey y’all. I’m having trouble deciding between BU and Northeastern. I’m planning on majoring in biomedical engineering. Idk if I should choose BU which has the stronger program and more resources or Northeastern which has a campus I like better and co-ops. And I know BU is probably seen as a more prestigious school so I was wondering if the difference in prestige between these two schools would affect my future in any way. I hope you guys can help out. Thanks.

My son is also deciding between these 2 schools and Rutgers. They are both solid choices. I may be biased as a NU School of Law grad, but I don’t think BU is more prestigious than Northeastern these days. Both schools had over 60000 applicants this year and have talented professors and diverse student bodies. Northeastern has come a long way since I went there, with many new, modern buildings and renovations to old buildings. The campus is pretty condensed so I don’t think it would be hard for you to navigate. The co-op program is great at letting you try different jobs to see what you like while you are still in school rather than figuring that out after graduation. Employers like to see those job experiences on your resume and some students get jobs after graduation from co-op employers. I have been watching the virtual talks from BU and they have impressive faculty and programs. Both are great choices and good luck with your decision!
