I wanted to know which course is better between the two and why -
Northeastern - Information Assurance
NYU Poly - Cyber Security
George Mason - Information Security and Assurance
P.S. I am looking forward to pursue my Masters in one of these universities.
I don’t know what these three degrees are, but I have experience with 2/3 colleges. I have one son at northeastern and it is a great fit. One son went to nyu poly and it was not a great experience. Nyu poly is very tough and A lot of kids can’t hack it and transfer out. The professors are not approachable and the workload is somewhat unbearable. Have a look at the statistics for who has a job after graduation from each college and also look at the 6 year graduation rate. At nyu poly it is 33percent. So aside from the fact that it is a bad e pertinence, it is hard to make friends when they keep leaving.
I see. So, what about the NYU Poly merger with NYU. Does that have any impact ?
When my son was there the merger was just happening. I can only say that the school was bureaucratic. He was never able to take a course on the main NYU campus even though they said it would be possible.You would need to ask current students if anything has changed. He tried to join some clubs on the main campus and everytime he went there was a new issue. One time they said his ID wasn’t right, so he fixed that, then they would say he’d need to pay to be in the club. Maybe these issues are resolved by now, he graduated two years ago.
