So, i've been admitted to Northwestern, University of Southern Cali., and University of Texas at Austin. I'm most likely going to major in Psychology or Biology. Money isn't an issue with these although UT is the cheapest since it's instate. I just don't know if i can handle the chicago weather (like -30?!?) since i'm from south texas. USC seems like a lot less stressful than Northwestern although NU is more famous... Please help! and many thanks! :D

I’m from Texas too!.. The weather is my main concern too, but like anything you’ll get used to it. Don’t let weather be the deciding factor. I would choose NW, although I can’t say I know the programs at USC. Nicest campus is probably NW, but opportunities are probably equal at both NW and USC. Chicago vs. LA, you decide… Austin is nice, but not as great (in terms of world city) as Chi or LA… I’m going through the same decision about NW and UT, but I’m close to choosing Chi, mainly for educational opportunities.

I’d just like to point out that the weather here is tolerable for the most part as long as you dress warmly. -30F is NOT the norm. That was most likely a reference to the windchill we had for a week this winter. According to Wikipedia:

Visiting Chicago in the winter on and off, I’ve found that wind chill seems to be a great factor. I live in WI, where the temperatures are a bit colder, but I find that the wind along the North Shore can bite at times.

But yeah, I wouldn’t let the weather make my decisions. You’re not going to be out in it all of the time, and even if it’s horrible it’s not worth entirely eliminating an opportunity.
