I applied to Lehigh and I know that Greek life is huge on campus. I enjoy going out on weekends and partying, but I’m a pretty small kid and it doesn’t take much to get me going so I don’t want to overdue anything. Would I still be able to get into parties without joining a frat?

Lehigh’s Greek community has the blog where you can contact them and ask current students questions.
My son did not think he would be interested in Greek life. During rush he attending some events with one fraternity and really liked them. So he joined with two friends from his dorm floor. He really liked the experience. He was an engineering student and needed to spend a lot of time studying. He actually was on the Honor Roll the year he lived in the fraternity! His fraternity brothers were very helpful helping him find jobs on campus and the internship that resulted in his job after graduation.
Best of luck to you!!!
Hey!, so I never partied in highschool, neither did my boyfriend, We both joined greek organizations, He joined the Engineering Professional Fraternity and I joined a Social Sorority. I thought greek life was going to ruin lehigh for me. I didnt. IF you immerse yourself in other activities you wont feel like you are missing out. Also I would say keep an open mind about greek life. There really is a house for everyone, there is also professional frats and places where there isn’t as much a focus on partying. GOOD LUCK!
How much does it cost to join a sorority? I’ve been considering Greek life since I was accepted to Lehigh, but money is a concern. And I know that Lehigh students are stereotypically pretty well off, so I’m figuring the costs to go Greek would be too high for me.
Oh, poetrymusiclover! So great to hear about your first year at Lehigh! I still remember when you were applying to Lehigh! I hope you continue to give your valuable insights to this year’s prospective’s students!
@CallmeC Lehigh has deferred sorority recruitment which means that first year women do not participate in recruitment until Spring semester – early January at Lehigh. Costs vary by each sorority but in the case of my sorority that is on campus at Lehigh, dues and fees can be paid all at once or in installments over the semester, essentially spreading out the payments over several months. Lehigh has an excellent Greek Life office and the Panhellenic Council governing NPC sororities has info sessions that take place during the fall semester. You should familiarize yourself with Lehigh’s Greek blog and the other Greek social media outlets. In most cases, the initial sororities costs may include one-time fees payable to the national/international organization and chapter dues, parlor fees and housing bonds, etc. The Greek Life office might be able to give you a range of dues for the groups on campus. Good luck!
@CallmeC Forgot to include that the multicultural sororities have a different recruitment process that the Greek Life office can also provide info about.
