I got into Kent, but didn't get nearly as much FA as my parents or I thought I would get.

I guess my main question is, what can I do? Or, is there anything I can do?

call and ask if you can get more. explain your situation, especially if you have a sibbling going to college.

I would also suggest calling the financial aid director. See what they can do. There may be a student with a hefty FA package, who will decide not to attend. You just need to let them know, that you need a little more aid.

Would you suggest that my parents or I call? Or would it matter?

Let me ask you a question. Who do you think will do a better job of explaining your situation? Personally, I would call myself. I say that solely because, my mother is incredibly long-winded and doesn’t know how to get to the point, and my father didn’t even want me to apply to boarding school.

Whom ever you think would make a more compelling argument should be the one to call.

Your parents should call - there is likely an FA appeal process and since these are their finances they should be the ones discussing it.

Your parents should call because they’re going to need answers to financial questions that you can’t answer. The problem is that a lot of families are having to stretch to get into boarding school and that includes giving up many expenses.

It is unlikely the schools will reconsider given tight budgets unless there is some unusual issue with your family’s finances that weren’t reflected in the PFS or school forms.

Yep - tuition is a shocker for sure.
