Unfortunately, I decided to not enroll at CMU. SORRY GUYS!

Anyways, I was wondering what we should do if we decide not to? I looked in my fat letter but apparently, there's no card indicating whether you choose to enroll or not. Just an envelope and explanations on Health insurance, Orientation, etc...

Fat Letter is kinda disappointing, isn’t it. You really don’t enroll but reserve a seat as a freshman. I imagine all schools really have a similar policy and will stuff the fat letter with different things to solidify the deal.

Yeah! I have the same question. How do we notify CMU?

I turned down an Andrew Carnegie Scholarship and Science and Humanities Scholar Program. My parents can’t believe it, but I don’t think I’d fit in well with the campus culture.

for my decline, I just checked the box on one of the papers that read “I will not enroll at Carnegie Mellon. I will enroll at ______________.” and faxed it to the number on the paper. The paper also had a box above that with info if you did plan on attending. It reads “Carnegie Mellon University” and then under that “Fall 2009 Enrollment Reply Form”.

if they don’t receive it, I expect to get some notice after may first, after which I will simply explain to them that I will not be attending.

hope this helps.

(btw, I do wish I could go to cmu, but the financial burden is just too heavy. I hope all you freshman have a good time and succeed, though. (: )

Odd coincidence - my S is in CMU that you turned down and went to NU where my D is a freshman. Which dorm did you sign up for there - my D found Slivka in the north campus to be quite good.
