Here's what I wished I knew when I became a Questbridge scholar...it doesnt work as well for the international kids because it messes with your ED/ EA apps. I ended up applying to really, really competitive schools because they were the only Questbridge schools that considered international students through the early match process. If you're going to do the early match process, you can't do early anywhere. And the school that I wouldve done early to...waitlist in regular...sucks. I'm not sure how questbridge helped me, if at all. But for some people, it really makes a difference. so really, before you do it just for kicks, consider wisely.

Although I think QuestBridge is overwhelmingly beneficial, I do not think the program is well-suited to the needs of international students. Unfortunately, almost no US admissions program is well-suited to the needs of international students.

I love QuestBridge because it opened my eyes to lesser know LACs and allowed me to apply to top schools for free after I became a finalist. I do understand about not being able to apply EA/ED elsewhere, as I explained in a letter to Barnard after being waitlisted. It just doesn’t look like a school is your number one choice if you don’t apply EA/ED.
