Not Going to Pre-Orientation Programs ...am I missing out?

My parents had already purchased airline tickets to arrive at the beginning of regular orientation a long time ago. Now that I have received some info on the Third World Transition Program, I find myself wanting to be a part of it. However, I don’t know if it’s worth the extra $250-$300 dollars of penalty costs and ticket price differences to change my airline itinerary.

Current students: to ease my concerns (or to exacerbate them), is it really essential to join a pre-orientation program? I’m afraid that many people will have already formed social circles by the time I set foot on campus on August 30, as opposed to August 26.

:</p>

i dont know a single person who did them other than minorities who did TWTP

Last year my D did not do pre-orientation stuff, and never even realized it had happened. Regular orientation is intense enough and you should be just fine.

Social circles form and break apart way too rapidly for anything like 4 days in the beginning to really matter.
