If my child doesn’t want to send their ACT report to the high school, how do you do this? It appears you have to pick a school code or search or answer one question at the bottom (like Im home schooled, don’t go to high school, etc). I seem to recall that you DON’T have to send your scores to your high school. They are your scores. Same for SAT? What do you do…is there a way besides calling the testing agency?
If the school pays for the test (as part of state test requirements) then that test score must go to the school. Otherwise your choice. If you google Homeschool codes for SAT and ACT you get these numbers:
SAT Homeschool Code: 970000
ACT Homeschool Code: 969-999
@“Erin’s Dad” thank you. I called ACT this morning. they have actually changed the process over the last few years and it has become more of a security check. They do verify with the high schools as reports are sent. It is a red flag otherwise. I don’t want to lie and put homeschool when that is not the case. Thank you
I was wondering the same thing this morning as Son registered to take the June test. I didn’t want to put homeschool but prefer the scores to not be reported. I am puzzled as to why it’s not an option since I am paying for the test.
Why wouldn’t you want your kids’ scores to go to the high school they attend? I don’t get it.
For the same reason many don’t want to immediately send the scores to colleges. The ACT previously provided an option for high school reporting.
Some don’t want it reported to high schools bc some high schools put on the transcript. If kids want to only put highest or none, this defeats the purpose. There used to be an option for no reporting. The only one who would get report is the student. After that they can do what they want. It ultimately is the student who sends official scores to colleges.
