To be honest, I've been a little discouraged lately. I'm planning to re-take the GRE this Saturday in an attempt to improve my verbal GRE score. It's the new GRE test, so I haven't gotten an official score yet, but my verbal is estimated to be between 480-580 while my math is estimated to be 750-800. I'm not worried about the math; I have consistently gotton only one quesstion wrong at most in that section in my practice tests. But my verbal score hasn't been as consistent; I got as high as a 660 once and as low as a 470 once in my practice tests. I have been memorizing more vocab words, but I cannot help but not feel confident. The reason why I'm striving to get a high verbal score is due to my weak GPA: only 2.61 and I was on academic probation numberous times. But I do have more than 2 years of experience in a defense contractor and my letters of recommendation are very positive (one being from my manager at work). I'm hoping to get accepted into the Masters program for Industrial Engineering and I plan to apply to USC, UC Berkeley, Cal Poly: San Luis Obispo, and Georgia Tech.

What do you guys think I can do to improve my chances?
