How would not taking the AP Exam for Chemistry impact college admissions into top ranked schools if I am planning to major in business or finance? The reason I am not taking it is because the teacher is horrible and I don't feel I should waste 100 dollars taking a test I will fail unless I pool all of my energies into it. I will still be taking 3 other tests. So what do you think? Thanks in advance

Depending on the college, you don’t have to send all your AP scores…look at their websites. Carefully! Personally I think if you take the course you should have to take the test…its required in our school district.

AP exams are not a requirement for college admissions.

If you are interested in top 10 you should have atleast 5 APs with 5s. Otherwise it doesn’t matter. This is just my observation looking at the result threads so far, somehow this year AP scores seem to have become “litmus test”.

What grade are you in? As a current senior right now, I have five 5’s going in so I agree with what fatherofm says. AP Scores show initiative.

If you haven’t taken any AP exams yet and you’re a junior, you should probably take AP Chem as well. But if you’re a sophomore then you don’t need to (you’ll be able to take more during junior year).

I am a junior. So far I have 2 5’s on bio and world history. I’m taking us history, env science, and language.
