I vote for a single thread, mostly for ease; I like to see all results in one place. I don’t see the difference between HGs and the rest. The purpose of the results thread is to post applicant results. I don’t think the schools applied to have much to do with it. Just my preference.

@ChoatieMom: For reporting results on M10, I agree. Back in 2011, I threw 7D1’s results up on the main thread, despite having a “no namer” like SAS in the mix. But last year’s HG thread seemed to generate a good dialog for people looking at school that were not among the “usual suspects”.

Maybe start on March 8th, Choate notifies March 9th in the morning

Are we gonna do the a million different threads for each schools decisions like last year? There was an Andover thread, a SPS thread, etc. Is that even necessary?

Starting March 8th would be great if people post decisions. Last year, ( I’m looking at you Chances Forum ) everyone had to slog through pages of countdown posts (OMG, I’m so nervous!!!) before reaching a decision.

■■■■■■■.com/ccprepschooldecisions2014

I’ll throw the “Official” post up on March 8th…but please, no countdown posts…decisions only.

@prepschoolhopes: Those individual school threads sort of pop up as people get their decisions because they want to make virtual friends with potential future classmates. I do hope people post to the master list first, so that it captures the “big picture” in a way that individual threads can’t.

On March 8th:

-OFFICIAL LIST (SevenDad)
-TOMTHECAT LIST (me)
-HIDDEN GEMS LIST (PhotographerMom)

Please no other lists and 24 days!

Check to see if MaineLonghorn is still the Prep School forum moderator, and ask her to pin the thread to the list of sticky threads

I’m not sure where the M9 date is coming from. This could be from last year when schools adjusted for the fact that M10 was a Sunday. According to the Choate website, however, Choate is mailing on the 10th. So it would seem that putting up the thread on the 9th would work fine and doing so might minimize the number of posts anticipating M10.

@calrenoma: Between putting up the “Official” thread on M8 or M9, I don’t think it really matters as long as people stick to NOT posting on a thread until they get actual results. Last year, I think the threads were put up like a week or so in advance and that no doubt contributed to the messiness.

If she’s willing… I vote for stargirl to start The 2014 Anxiety Thread. Are you feeling angst before M10? We have a thread for that. I’m very supportive because I’ll be a nervous Aunt on M10!

Who ISN’T feeling anxious before M10 is the better questions :)!

@PhotographerMom I’m honored! Just a minute…

Can all the creators of the official decisions threads link stargirl’s anxiety thread as the place for non-decisions posts? That should give people with an overwhelming urge to comment something a place to post.

@calrenoma On the GoChoate admissions portal, you can find your decision on M9 however, my understanding is that you get the hard copy via mail on M10

Really? On their website it says that decisions will be available M10. They don’t say anything about decisions on M9.

Log into GoChoate and underneath the blue checklist there’s a link to something along the lines of “admissions decision” that should give you the information you need

BUMP… Just so we’re clear as we get closer to M10.

BUMPP I think everyone really needs to see this so this is not a huge mess
