Notification Date?

Hey guys, does anyone know when the Berg is going to release RD decisions and how?

Anytime between now and April 1st through snail mail. They are sending them out by the end of next week apparently.

Spoke to admissions officer. First wave of decisions going out this week and second wave going out next week. So all decisions will be snail mailed by end of next week.

Anyone understand why colleges (and this isn’t just 'berg) do “waves?” I mean, put 'em all in the mail at once! Or better yet, post them online.

There is surely a science in admissions. Early notifications bring a higher degree of commitments at many schools. At the same time, the admissions committee wants to ensure it is picking the best applicants and needs time to read thousands of essays, consider diversity of interests and backgrounds, sort the applications, etc., and thus takes time to do it right. Some schools consider financial aid needs as well.

Having said all of that, from what I have seen, Muhlenberg is consistently fair and draws a terrific group of enthusiastic freshman who are grateful for the opportunity to study at 'Berg. Get ready for a great journey.

My daughter just got her acceptance this morning. Snail mail. “You’re In” on the outside of the regular size, but thick, business envelope. She was a deferred ED, so was not getting her hopes up at all. Tears of joy in our house this morning.

Congratulations!!! Where do you live? Is there anything posted on their portal? Thanks!

Cricket, we live in a small town in rural Massachusetts, with Post Office only delivery. (She goes to a boarding school in NH.)

She was a long shot for Muhlenberg (did not submit scores, 3.2 GPA overall but vastly improved over the last year, good extracurriculars but not much leadership, but a truly great kid with what must have been outstanding faculty recommendations.) Honestly, we can hardly believe she got in. She did visit three times (from Mass.), and as I said, she had applied ED. She will definitely be challenged academically there, but works her butt off and is very motivated to succeed.

S also just got the “You’re In” envelope in Mass. Financial and merit aid notification to follow later in the month.

My d also got in. We are in N. NJ. Nothing on the e-portal so don’t worry if no updates there.

Central MA letter received today…Good News!

Do received her “You’re In” envelope today.

Now we wait for the aid letter.

S received You’re In letter today. Later in March for FinAid/Merit $. We are in Cent NJ

Anyone “in” who is vacillating between Muhlenberg and another school?

D got acceptance letter today! We are in southern California. Haven’t heard from any others till end of month. This was her safety- whew! Happy day!

oh sweet, hopefully my letter is in the first wave because I can’t stand the the waiting.

Congrats everyone!!!

S received his “You’re In” envelope today…we’re in Northern NJ. Fincl Aid ltr will help in making choice

Sent from my SCH-I405 using CC

Congratulations to those with the fat envelopes. Muhlenberg usually has an accepted students day each April. If you were accepted, do your best to attend as it will give you an deeper sense of what the Muhlenberg Community offers.

I applied to Muhlenberg RD. I haven’t received any notification yet. I live on LI in NY. Muhlenberg has been my top choice since July 2011 when I visited. Do any of you think that I might get my decision early next week if I was in the first wave?

I got in today. I am so excited! Congrats to all other people who got in!
