Notre Dame Early Action for Fall 2022 Admission

Daughter didn’t get in. Not surprised and kind of relieved because getting in and not being able to afford to go would have been worse.

Son rejected.

1560 SAT
3.9 GPA
8 AP classes
Class VP, Civil Air Patrol officer, Robotics team leader, 3 varsity sports, first grade tutor

4.5 weighted GPA
She’s been a full time college student for the last two years pf high school which might have hurt her because we went this route over AP and honors courses. If she goes to the state school she got in to she can graduate 2 years early because of this. This is a bonus because she wants to go to med school. She did take all honors and AP courses her freshman and sophomore year. Lots of community service and school clubs. She didn’t submit test scores because we felt her gpa was a better representation of her than the scores. ND wasn’t her first choice so I’m hoping she can get in at her top choice. We won’t know till next year because that school only has ED or RD and she didn’t want to apply ED.

My daughter was accepted!

She is an IB diploma candidate and with her IB and AP classes she should have 1.5-2yrs of college credits at our state schools. Important to note that colleges don’t have to accept these so it shouldn’t hurt the candidates because the school can make it a policy not to accept them.

Accepted! 31 ACT. 4.5 GPA. 3 APs (school only offers 4 of them). Legacy. Good essays and extracurriculars. Class VP, VP of Ambassadors, and tons of leadership roles in clubs that work directly with my schools admission team. Also, Varisty Dance Team Captain. National African American Scholar. Literally don’t know how I got in lol. I do go to a small Catholic private school so maybe that helped? Definitely the legacy helped as well. Anyways so excited🍀

Congratulations, great stats and well deserved. Any legacies in the family? I also thought ours could go either way and she was deferred. Similar stats, Eagle Scout was probably great for the service portion and they seem to be really focused on that.

I’m interested in stats.

I think it might have hurt my daughter because we focused more of college classes over AP. We found out this year, that some colleges prefer the AP because of the national testing, her guidance counselors never really talked about this. The schools can’t compare the college calculus that she has an A in this semester at her state school to another college calculus class, especially a private out of state school. She’s guaranteed that all the courses she’s taken so far will transfer to any state school if she stays in state, which will let her graduate early.

Daughter accepted! Very grateful, there’s always some luck.
