help please!! I was accepted to the business school at all three schools and i can't choose one. all three schools are so different but there are things about each that i LOVE and i can't seem to say no to one of them. Haas school of busniess at berkeley is ranked much higher (number 2 on us news) than the others and is in sunny cali, georgetowns campus is awesome, is in dc and is just a great school in general, and notre dame has great "family" unity (what i like) and mendoza is considered pretty decent as well. but they have cons as well... berkeley is soo large and i hear its also cutthroat (although i know i could handle the competition, i dont know if i want to deal with that .. college is supposed to be somewhat fun right?) notre dame is in the middle of NOWHERE. and georgetown's mcdonough is not considered an amazing business school? i'm so torn...

My rank would be: Notre Dame, G’town, Berkeley unless you’re in-state.

Why? I don’t think you’d find most kids think that, “middle of nowhere” negative so important. As a non-college student, you’re aware of it, but once you are settled with friends, that’s where your home will be. If it was a tiny place, then yeah. But Notre Dame attracts people to them and is a good size. Being “family” is what it’s all about.

G’town is nice too, but it’s so much about IR and politics that it just pales to ND. Berkeley, as you said, is just too big. Unless you’re a Regent scholar and get the classes you want, it’s just not that “family” comfort zone you might prefer. In the end, it’s NOT ABOUT THE RANKINGS, but the “fit”. If you like “family”, make that your priority and you know.

The San Francisco Bay area (where Berkeley is) is not “sunny” California…it’s windy, foggy, and chilly California. “Sunny” California is in the L.A. and San Diego areas, HUNDREDS of miles to the south.

The comments on fit are definitely correct since you’re talking about 3 great schools. However, the strength of Gtown is its SFS, whereas business is not particularly renowned. Where are you from? Where do you want to be? What sort of weather can you deal with? Is ND’s Catholic thing a plus or minus? Is Cal’s liberal hippie thing a plus or minus? So many personal factors, but if you can list what’s important to you, I think you’ll come to the right decision.

I agree it depends on what you want, personally, I’d go with the money - where I would have to spend less.

Agree with Veritas
