Ah philliefan that’s so exciting! I can’t wait to meet you! And about the bathing suit… pacsun has a lot of strange (and definitely not ND acceptable…) one pieces, but they also have a bunch of cute ones! Hopefully I can find a nice cheap one on there haha.
Also, does anyone know how the housing situation works?

In Louisiana pretty much every private school isn’t co-ed and there’s a lot of private schools haha! Yea we’re okay at sports. We’re supposed to be in the 3rd highest division for sports, but since our soccer team is beyond amazing, they play in the highest division forcing everyone else to play in the highest division. Pretty much every sport gets to the playoffs with the exception of basketball, but no one wins state except like soccer and tennis. For school though in most states it doesn’t really matter whether you go to public or private school to receive a good education, but in Louisiana if you want a really good education, then attending a private school is a must with a few exceptions. I love going to an all girls school though haha I mean I have those days when I’m like “I NEED BOYS!” but other days I’m like wow thank the Lord boys aren’t here haha

I really don’t know about housing that much, but I think they will tell us there. And I want to know why we need a bathing suit?! haha, thats no problem for me because I live in an Island, so is summer all year long so I have a million bathing suits, but why do i need them?

yea I know what you mean! I’ve been in a all boys school since 8th grade…Public schools here suck :(, no comparison to private, I’m at a private school, but man its horrible for public school people! and i know because both of my parent are from public and they have worked their buns off! Im proud though! We people here at Puerto Rico, live at constant risk you know…its horrible, but I do love my island! But I just can’t wait to get there!

As far as housing I’m pretty sure girls are in Walsh hall and guys are in St.Edwards? Not entirely sure about the guys… And I talked to a guy at my school who went a few years ago and he said that roommates were based on tracks so you had the benefit of being in the same room as someone with similar interests and stuff I’m not entirely sure if that’s still their procedure though

Oh and boricuax I was wondering the same thing about why we need a swim suit… Cuz last time I was there ND was smack dab in the middle of farmland. Sooo I’m not quite sure on where we’d swim…

theres probably a pool or something ?
I actually like that idea of the roommates! I just want to know who got into pre-law…im the only one here in pre-law haha

Yea and maybe there’s a lake or something. I think I read a post from someone who did the life science track talking about how they went in this lake for something. Haha I really don’t know the details… All I know is that I’m super excited for this summer!! And volleyballer1, haha I forgot to look there, but I saw one at American eagle! In my research I found that one piece bathing suits are either really weird, really expensive and sometimes even more revealing than bikinis haha

1 American Eagle Fan, right here.

Now that you mention lakes, there is one at Fisher Hall! We going to have a blast there!

There’s two lakes on campus, I didn’t know they were swim-able though haha.
And yaay philliefan, Im glad you found one! I totally agree with your findings haha. Hopefully I can find a cute one too!

anyone know how the term “free time” is considered there? what did they let you do ?

In the little booklet it said that we were allowed to use the rec center. Hopefully they meant during this supposed “free time” and not just during certain activities they make us do haha. They had the usual schedule for each day in that handbook too. I would check it right now, but I’m at school so I don’t have it with me. In another thread, someone said (lol rhymes) that they had a lot of free time I’d assume after classes.

Does anybody know if we have to do any physical activities? I just got knee surgery so that wouldn’t be the best thing for me.

Im pretty sure there are some, but I think that it is optional. Besides I don’t think they would force you to do any physical activity!

I talked to my college counselor today. She knows a lot of people who are involved with the summer scholars program and a lot of the students she’s counseled have gone. She said they always have you doing some fun activity.

Sweet! I pumped!! I love how you lear, but at the same time you have a blast in the program!

Apparently the program used to be three weeks, but they changed it to two because
“relationships would start to develop between the scholars” hahaha. I think that’s hilarious :D

I wish it would be 3 weeks haha more fun!
Well you could feel attracted to someone is completely normal, but to have deep deep feeling its hard. Unless you live in the same state.

Yea if it was three weeks though I probably wouldn’t be able to go because of volleyball haha so I’m glad it’s two.

We’re staying at Walsh Hall. It’s inbetween the Basilica and the South Dining Hall (has the best food ever by the way!) It’s going to be supppppeeeerrrr hot and humid so bring lots of tshirts and shorts! I’m super psyched for this summer too! I went to ND Vision last summer and stayed in Alumni and now I’m going to Summer Scholars! :)
