Notre Dame vs. Villanova

Hi everyone!! I put my deposit down to attend Notre Dame about a week ago. I feel super blessed to be attending such an amazing school, but I’m also feeling a bit apprehensive. I’m still thinking about the other school I was deciding between, Villanova (in the honors program). I originally decided on ND because it has a stronger reputation and has a lot of what I am looking for in a college: a strong sense of community, good sports, diverse community, gorgeous campus, strong alumni network, and an amazing business program. Plus, many of my family members are ND fans, so that weighed towards my decision as well. But, now I’m feeling unsure ND is the right fit for me. I’m worried about living in South Bend and not outside of a major city like Philly, something I originally really wanted. Another thing that concerns me is the harder academics, especially the Mendoza curve in the business school. ND was my reach school, so I know if I attend I will be at the middle/ bottom of the pack. Now at ND you need to live in the dorms for 3 years, which is a con for me because I was really looking forward to at least being able to move up into an on campus apartment like the ones at Villanova when I become an upperclassman. Also, I like the idea of joining a sorority and being slightly closer to home, both pros of Nova. Someone please reassure me that I made the right choice!! Opinions favoring either school are welcome  Thanks in advance!

" Also, I like the idea of joining a sorority"

Well, congratulations, because at Notre Dame, your dorm pretty much IS your sorority. They’ve eliminated the rushing and pledging, but kept all the other fun stuff.

South Bend is relatively small, but Notre Dame does keep it’s students very busy. The workload is difficult, but there are a lot of support systems in place.

There was no wrong choice. Both your colleges are fabulous. It’s normal to think about “what if”, but don’t dwell on it to the point it ruins your happiness. You’re going to do great!

Thanks so much for your encouragement!!! I feel better about my decision already
