Hi,
I am currently a junior in high school and am greatly interested in going to Notre Dame. As such, I was wondering if anyone could provide some insight into how my chances are of getting in based on my grades/extracurriculars/test scores.
Extracurriculars:
-JV/Varsity football 2 years: most improved player one year, JV MVP the next, and academic all state both years
-President/Founder of an investment club: we invest in derivatives and 25% of all profit goes to Save the Children, a charity that helps children in LDCs
-Secretary of Action for Africa: a club that raises money and sends it to Heifer Int’l, a charity that trains farmers in Africa on how to effectively farm to provide for themselves and their community
-Member of another investment club, called financial investments and applied economics, and president next year: placed first place twice in school-wide stock market challenges and we are currently partaking in a challenge with Wharton that I think we’ll place top 10 in
-Intern at an M&A firm: last summer and hopefully this summer
-Science fair: 2nd place in physics freshman year for researching more cost effective as well as safe material for football helmets. 1st place in mathematics sophomore year for performing stochastic analysis of crude oil prices and major US stock indexes
-Volunteer at Veterans hospital (2015-2016, 1.2 years)
-Volunteer at church (2012-2017, 4.5 years)
-Volunteer at Home of the Innocents (2016-present)
-AP Statistics tutor: after my strong performance and receival of an award from my teacher for best student of the year last year, I was recruited to tutor and mentor students in statistics. Currently, we (the tutors) are discussing developing an app to make learning statistics easier.
Grades/test scores:
-4.4 weighted, 4.0 unweighted (by graduation, ill have taken 11 APs and GPA may go up to 4.5)
-ACT: not yet taken, expecting >=33
-SAT: not yet taken, expecting >=1510
-SAT Math 2: not yet taken, expecting 800
-SAT Physics: not yet taken, expecting 800
My intended majors are finance and applied mathematics with minors in Spanish and Russian. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a great day!
