Thank you very much...

did you apply ed alexander?

Yes, I did. A 20% boost in admissions rate never hurts...

yepp that's right..
i wonder how many ed applicants there are this year..

so are you also obssessively in love with columbia too?

The lady i talked to at Columbia when I called told me not to email my scores but to fax them.

who did you talk to daniyal555?

I just talked to some lady at the admissions office when I called.

you just called the admission office ya? that was probably the secretary (a student assistant or something)...

i spoke to the director of admissions (jessica marinaccio) and she said email them or just wait till collegeboard sends the offical report card..
but idk.. maybe u could fax them? it probably really doesn't matterrrr..

From what she said I got the impression that it wasn't really a big deal; she said I could fax them but that the scores would get there and it wouldn't really matter. Yeah I don't think it makes a big difference.

yep.. in any case.. they dont consider it "official" till they receive the score report from collegeboard.

so for the nov scores.. they'll reach columbia around dec 1st.

Hmm, my problem is that my Oct. SAT score doesn't show up on their list, but I have a confirmation paper from College Board - they should definitely have it.

BTW, as far as being obsessively in love with any school - I really don't get the people who are freaking out that they don't get in at the school of their choice. None of them have ever studied in that school, so how can they be obsessively in love with something they don't have a clue about? The reason I applied ED was because CU is a major urban university with a pretty good History Dept. and a significant difference in admission rates between ED and RD. I have no idea if I will love the school once I am there, but I don't have any clue whether I will like any other school on my list either.

Alexander, did Columbia send you something through the mail or through email stating that they have sent your scores?

ok.. so there are ED applicants out there who are not in LOVE with the school.....

To smithk: I presume you mistyped and meant "College Board" - they sent me a standard score report letter, with CU being one of the two colleges on the list of colleges that have received the scores.

When does Columbia start making decisions? I got an e-mail from them about a missing transcript and they said it needed to be faxed by nov. 23...but nov. SAT scores won't be there until dec. 1...also my interviewer told me her write-up was due dec. 1.

are they going to start eliminating people before then or will all the decisions be made in a matter of 10 days (or 7 business days)?

I thought you received an email from them nikki..

it seems like it........ anyway, they don't seem to mind about receiving nov scores on dec 1st...

apparantly the "first" geographical reader makes cuts... then the ones that made it through go to the board where the first reader presents each of those applicants.
but apparantly the discussions about these people are done in the matter of mins. and decisions are made pretty quickly... i just trust that they are professionals. tee hee.

i got this from the princeton board "inside the adcom office"
http://csmonitor.com/cgi-bin/durableRedirect.pl?/durable/1998/12/15/fp11s1-csm.shtml
it kinda gives you an idea as to how decisions are made...

i guess we just all end up the school we were meant to end up..

btw, so noone noes when the decisions come out right? and angelnikki's not received any emails...

3 min to decide our fate wow...So in reality they probably wont make their decisions until sometime in December.

Sorry, I thought I made it clear. I received an e-mail asking for a missing piece of my application. I was told that the missing piece was needed by nov. 23. I was asking when they were going to decide, not when they would notify us...sorry for the confusion!

Decisions come out Dec. 10.

i reckon they decide between dec 1st/2nd - dec 8th/9th... if the decisions get sent out on dec 10th...

pray hard as dec rolls in guys...
