November 2008 SAT Subject Test: Math Level 2

lolilaughed- if you're having trouble visualising; graph absvalue(sinx). Since the cycle of sinx goes ranges from 1 to -1, forming two hemispheres in the first and fourth quadrants. Now for abs value of sinx, the negative hemispheres are reflected about the x axis, making them identical to the hemispheres originally in the first quadrant. Thus, the graph repeates every 2pi/2 or pi.

But since the abs can never be -, shouldn't that be counted in the interval?

@ JJJJ which problem is that?

There was one with the domain are all except 0 and (5 or -5 don't remember question).

Other question with Non Negative product of zeros is x(x+6) b/c 0 times -6 is 0, which is a Non Negative number.

Yes |sinx| is pi; just looked at it on my Ti-89.

nonononono, at x = 0 the function equals -25/0 which is undefined

Wait.. can I have a final answer for the question about where the graph is undefined? Is it 5 AND 0, or just 5? :\ I put the former... bleh choice E i think

@lolilaughed

Nope, function is now cut in half and just repeats the positive half over and over and over... etc

5 and 0! 10char

^ Okay, I'm going to update the |sinx| question and the 5,0 question

Help with the

cone problem

x=0 or x=5,0 if you can (0/0)?

I vaguely remember hearing that 0/0 was undefined on the calculator but not really...

But then again a hole in the graph would be called undefined at x=0 anyways.

Anyone remember what number the problem that asks you to solve for a while it gives you an equation like x^2 +5x= (x01)^2 +a + b was? Like 35? Someone answer!!!

It was before 40 for sure. Probably around 30-40.

Lebron, what question are you talking about? I dont remember an (x01?)^2 ??

@LebronAnthony

Answer was -2. Little fuzzy on that but I'm 90% sure.

So far I'm at 6 skip and -2 b/c of careless error...ughhh! No more 800 for me!

I remember a question where a = -2, is that what you are referring to lebron?

HAHA yes I'm seeing if I should cancel mine depending on the disputed questions.

I do remember the above question but it was so insignificant I didn't think about it much.

HAHA yes I'm seeing if I should cancel mine depending on the disputed questions.

I do remember the above question but it was so insignificant I didn't think about it much.

I wouldn't bother canceling unless you did really poorly.

EVERY college I've talked to so far superscores subject tests.

^ I was under the impression that it is frowned upon to retake subject tests?

^ 7 blank and prob -2 wrong (depending on disputed) is pretty poor.

Which questions are "disputed"?
