November 2010 SAT - Critical Reading

for providing concession one… what were the other choices?
were there sth like to qualify and reassert his argument? I remember choosing this one but don’t know which paasage. I feel like it’s bat one.

For the concession one that was an option for the college passage.

daul passage- passage 2 thinks passage 1 is overblown? right? other choices were oversensitive i think.

-blue215

what’s that concession questioon? I don’t remember…

qualify and asserting was for different question.

And overblown is correct.

Can some one predict -5 please?

For the short passage about the dancer, did someone put an answer that he spanned a lot of eras?

i got almost the same answers as u but i didn’t put humorous…cant remember what i put

I put he featured a variety of styles.

I chose judgmental o.o

@Languidness no, those were the few I actually got right.
I changed my answers from confound to extrapolate, from languorous to oversomething, idk, and from renegade to mercenary or something.
I basically just didn’t know the definitions. haha

What would you say was the support in the passage for that? That’s what I initially thought but I couldn’t find anything to back it up. I put the eras one because it said he was active from about 1920 to 1950 then reemerged in '75.

What were the answer choices about the dancer? I think I put E, don’t remember what it was tho. I should have put variety of styles, darnit.

@Maple, im pretty sure the only answer that had concrete evidence from the passage was that he spanned a lot of eras or whatever that answer choice was

For dancer one, I put span of long era.

it was tentative, he was hesitant about the deception

yeah i aso had the long affiar as an answer

@everlasting the concession question was the college one. I am not sure if concession was the answer. One of the options was … what was the purpose of the last paragraph. And I think he acknowledged that some feel as though athletes should not be paid he also provided a quote from authority on how paying athletes could be beneficial. That is why I put provide new evidence ,but I was really unsure about this one so I don’t know.

The passage specifically stated that he did not follow the traditionalist style. He did whatever he preferred (somehting like that)

Yeah I put a variety of styles but it could also be spanned a long era. They both work.

SC Questions!

Judge one!! - is it for sure quesiant(? I don’t even remember this word) and exacting? cuz I put A… which was hmm… sth about she wasn’t busy.

is confound for sure?? I put invoke… I just thought confound doesn’t fit in.

What was the answer for the last question on the fiction passage?

Q: The author would most likely react to her husband’s compliments with:

A: Irrelevant
B: Disbelief and Suspicion
C: Irrelevant
D: Irrelevant
E: Surprise and happiness

I picked E because it seemed that ‘suspicion’ was both extreme and unsupported. E makes sense, even if the second word may sound incongruous.
