November 2010 SAT - Critical Reading

quantam physics #23 something with articulate visioning Eienstien

haha ider this question…elaborate, what was the question or another answer

the rest i agree with

anyone have a link to it?

did any of you have a passage about a two sisters visiting their grandmother and one of the girls had a fever and there was a conflict over a fan?

was that an experimental section?

if u had the rest of our test…then yep :)

Does someone want to make an argument for judgmental? I’m not sure how one could think that the author was being judgmental if was also understanding of people who use deception? Let’s be civilized about this debate.

Idk how the author was understanding of people who use deception. The first author definitely was, but the second wasn’t at all…at least not from what I remember. Care to give some examples?

2400…it wasnt understanding of people who were being judgemental. that was passage 1

passage two pretty much said : past claims on lying: if you lie, your bound to lie more and keep lying. This is the right claim and it also dehumanizes you and hurts everyone around you and if you lie you become etc etc etc.

basically saying…if u lie, your awful

I thought the question was about the author of passage 1 in light of passage 2? It is certainly a possibility that I misread the question.

Lol I even re-read the question to make sure I wouldn’t make that mistake. I guess I wasn’t focused enough.

It’s okay :C

Does anyone know what the farm girl question was where the answers were like ‘enhanced the house by attractive landscaping’ (something like that) and ‘views of the countryside’

Which one was it?!!
I put the countryside one…

views of the countryside made more sense to me, because it never enhanced the house at all, it just focused on the outside countryside.

It’s the window one (farms with a view).

It was, the lines about the old farmhouse suggest which of the following about newer farmhouses, and the narrator said that the old farmhouse was constructed in a way that the outside view could be ignored.

yayyyy
That’s what I thought, but I was unsure

For SC questions, does anyone remember the wording of first question about chocolate? (The answer is derivation?)
And what about the retired judge one? I choose something about exhaustive.

^yea i put idyllic and exhaustive. It was quiescent and exacting, apparently.

@lovewangzi: Yes, something about chocolate coming from the word xocatl (sp?) meaning bitter water. Definitely derivation.

The judge one was quiescent and exacting. Positive on that too.

Let’s get a consolidated list going. A lot of the answers are on the official sat cr thread, but let’s separate the two.

What about the doctors and sick people one, it was sequestered right? that was the closest thing to quarantined…

Damn it I almost chose that one but went with inoculated because of the first word…

Damn it I bombed this section.
