November 2010 SAT - Critical Reading

i had the evil quantum physics and the deception passsages

I thought the quantum physics one was my experimental section, so I sort of half-assed it. and then i raezlied an hour later, my experimental was something else -_-

so now i think i know that the worst case scenario for me would be -5 and …i 'm wondering what that would be normally?

Weird, I don’t remember vexing nor pedestrian.

yeah, i didnt get that either
you prob had the same test as me
dont sweat it

“Black and grey are colors.”
not really… they are “achromatic” and usually referred to as the absence of color/hue/saturation

“For that college athlete thing I put logical but ___.”

for the first author’s opinion of the second’s statement i put logical but controversial, because it is logical that the reason they go to a university is to get an education, but controversial because its not the only reason they are there; by playing sports they should get paid! (he is also making it a controversy by advocating that schools should pay the players)

I chose analytical also.

I remember one of the Caribbean questions. I think it asked about the commercial and cultural, or was that an answer?

Am I the only one with this version?

Logical/controversial was also my pick and the only one that even made any sense to me. Had the same reasoning as the poster above.

Yes, but appealing/ludicrous was directly supported by the passage, which said something along the lines of “While we’d all like to believe this, it’s ridiculous and outdated.”

Does anyone remember the last question in piano passage? It asks about something like the attitude of students, from “playing” a imaginary keyboard. Is the answer admiration or compassion?

^Admiration. dude. How can you even ask that?

It’s definitely admiration.

Can someone who’s taken previous SATs predict the curve? I’m freaking out over here haha.

Im sure the CR curve will not be different from October’s. The Math may be a bit more lenient. -1=780. Writing is going to be -1=78

…what was the October curve?

October curve had -3=800 I believe for CR.

Tinged can mean “To affect slightly, as with a contrasting quality.” So could this refer to the black/white shading she did on the stem?

I’m pretty sure it’s tinged…none of the other answer choices fit as well.

Did we come to a consensus on the meaning of “principles”?

fundamental laws.

It was talking about “principles of vision”

I haven’t seen anyone else with your version. What time zone are you in? You took it in the us, right? Were your writing and math sections different? Did you have any of the passages everyone is talking about? If not, you got a rare third version, which is very strange. What were the vocabl words? That would be really helpful.
